If you ever feel as though you are overworked you should definitely Make the Most of the Weekend or as I say MMW! Many view the weekend as the time to rest and before you know it, the weekend is over and it’s back to work. Repeating this pattern will probably result at FOMO.
Here are 6 Ways to Make the Most of the Weekend!
- Enjoy outdoors!
There are several state parks located in Georgia that all have a lot of character. Last spring I visited one that was on my list for awhile, Providence Canyon. This park is often refereed to as Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon. While it is not as massive as the Grand Canyon it is quite the site to see, with several trails and one even taking you through a vintage car graveyard.

2. Visit a Museum
Museums are one of my favorite places to visit and most cities have several. When ever I visit a city I usually try to make enough time to visit at least one. The great thing about living in Atlanta is that there are more than enough for me to visit and since I like to frequent them, I have purchased memberships. Here are a couple of my favorites:
- The Center for Civil and Human Rights
- Atlanta History Center
- Fernbank Museum of Natural History
- Delta Flight Museum
- High Museum of Art
3. Tour your city
Streetart is something I love. It can truly beautify a city and in recent years there has been an influx of art work around Atlanta and really everywhere. Recently on a trip in Miami I visited Wynwood Walls. This place is an indoor and outdoor wall art installation.
If you are looking for a local Atlanta street art I would suggest following Atlanta Street Art Map on instagram or their website https://streetartmap.org/. There you will find a guide to local street art, warning there’s a lot out there.
4. Eat at a New Restaurant
If you are like me, you might notice quite a few restaurants around time that you try to remember to try later. My friends and I often try to visit these places on the weekend. It gives us something new to do and its great option if you can’t figure out what you want to eat.
5. Road Trip
Going on vacation is something I am sure you love to do. Often we forgot that a simple weekend road trip can just as revitalizing as a week long vacation. Think about taking a road trip that is approximately 2-4 hours from the city you live in. With Atlanta being my home base, weekend trips to Savannah,GA, Asheville,NC and Gatlinburg,TN are all doable.
6. Local Sporting Event
Being from a town where people think that there are no true fans is annoying and one of the reasons I make sure I support my home teams. Sporting events are fun and exciting. There is nothing like being able to scream at the top of your lungs and noone looks at you like you are crazy!
Ultimately I just want everyone to enjoy their weekend in a way that makes them happy. Remember if you work hard you should definitely remember to play and at least Make the Most of the Weekend.
