Hi There! This past weekend I visited my first Sunflower Farm and was amazed at how tall sunflowers are, as they easily surpass my short self. Sunflowers are beautiful and happen to be my favorite color yellow. Many people consider Sunflowers their favorite flower and I can see why. I will definitely start adding Sunflower Farms to my must do of Fall activities going forward.
I have never visited a Sunflower Farm but have seen the amazing pictures taken at such farms. Well this year I visited Fausett Farms is located in Dawsonville, GA about ~ 1hour and 15 minutes outside of Atlanta. You are not allowed to pick the flowers but can purchase them for an additional cost.
There are bees, lots of them but they don’t care about you. As sunflowers are so massive, one can only image how much pollen they produce. The bees are more focused on the pollen than you and as long as you respect their space they are busy working and not thinking about us humans. Speaking of pollen, if you have allergies I would highly recommend taking medication before visiting. My go to allergy medication is Xyzal, it works for 24 hours. I take it the evening before that way it’s already in my system. It doesn’t leave me drowsy the next morning either.
As of right now, the farm is due to open back up on 9.29.21.
