There are two types of people when it comes to choosing a hotel, those that just want a place to put their head and those that must have a unique experience. I’m the lather. When choosing a hotel I am always looking for a unique experience. That way the hotel becomes a part of the trip itself. Searching for right hotel can be tiresome and to say the I was elated when I found this gem is an understatement, The Curtis a Double Tree by Hilton .
The Curtis Hotel located in Denver has uniquely themed floors, hyper-themed rooms, suites and standard rooms. While the standard rooms are mostly the same, there are hyper-themed rooms that are worth the extra bucks. But be warned if you want a hyper-themed room, book early! The rooms were sold out during our stay.
The hotel is also special because unlike most hotels, the hotel also has an elusive thirteen floor. Of course it’s properly themed as the horror floor, too. The floor is one of the better themed floors and once you exit off of the elevator you will see why. Upon check-in you can request which floor you’d like to stay on.
There were a few things that attracted me to this hotel and one was the fact that The Curtis is a part of the Hilton brand which means it adds points to my Hilton Honors account. Hilton Honors is a free program to which you receive discount rate, points to free nights, free wifi and much more. If you are not a Hilton Honors member sign up, here.
The standard room are retro themed. Bathrooms are a nice size and have a spacious shower. Keep in mind there are hyper-themed rooms as well, there’s even a hyper-themed ghostbuster room!
The themed floors are wonderful. Through the Hilton Honors App you are able to select which floor you would like to stay on during your stay.
Floor 4 Perfect Pair Floor 10 Champions
Floor 5 Superhero Floor 11 Chick Flick
Floor 6 Fun & Games Floor 12 Dance
Floor 7 Laugh Out Loud Floor 13 Horror
Floor 8 Sci-Fi Floor 14 TV Mania
Floor 9 Big Hair Floor 15 Mad About Music
Floor 16 Pedal To The Metal
The lobby is equally impressive.
The hotel was one of my favorites as the service was great and the rooms were spacious and clean. There is an onsite restaurant and you are within walking distant to the 16th street mall, where there are plenty of stores and restaurants. The hotel is also about a ~ 15 minute walk to the Denver Grand Station and Coor’s Field. Though we were only there for one night, we walked down to the Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery and experienced a little of what Denver had to offer along the 16th street mall. I recommend staying at this hotel and plan on visiting again!
