Finally I made it to the Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience! After years of wanting to attend an exhibit like this, over the weekend I finally attended the experience in Atlanta. Was it worth the wait? Yes! I am a lover of art and constantly want to create new memories. Therefore, I really enjoyed myself. Due to the current popularity of exhibits like this, experiences like this are being offered near many major cities across North America. Originally, I thought I was going to have to fly to another city to view the exhibit. But long and behold, Atlanta was a chosen city.
Vincent Van Gogh is an artist that many are familiar. His famous paintings include The Starry Night, several self-portraits, and Café Terrace at Night. So to be able to view his art in a different way was unique experience. You are able to truly immersive yourself in his art and the story the paintings tells. Not only do you get to view the paintings in a different way, you will also learn about Van Gogh.
If you did not know Van Gogh suffered from anxiety, depression and mental disorders. These are things that as a society we are finally talking about and openly seeking help. It is profound that through it all, Van Gogh was able to find the beauty in the world. Now over a hundred years later the world is still captivated by the beauty he has created. If you or someone you know suffers from anxiety or depression know that it is ok to talk about it and seek assistance for treatment.
The 360 Projection Gallery is definitely the highlight. With music playing and being immersived in the paintings, you will find yourself not wanting to leave the room. It is that beautiful and calming.
