As a Georgia girl, Easter morning at Stone Mountain has always held a sacred place in my heart. There’s something powerful about watching the sun rise from the top of the mountain, wrapped in layers against the morning chill, surrounded by people who woke up not just for a view—but for a moment with God.
This year, I had the privilege of attending with my mom and a few close friends. As we stood together, facing east in the darkness, I felt a deep sense of connection—to my faith, to those around me, and to the One who makes all things new. When the first rays of light broke over the horizon, they didn’t just warm our faces—they stirred our souls.
If you’ve ever longed for a meaningful way to celebrate Easter, this is it. It’s not just tradition—it’s transformation.

Why This Sunrise Is Different
The Stone Mountain Easter Sunrise Service isn’t about lights or spectacle. It’s about stillness before the day begins. It’s about gathering in darkness, and celebrating the Light. Since 1944, thousands have made this early morning journey to the summit to remember that death does not have the final word.
It’s worship under the open sky. No walls. Just creation and the Creator.
