A Magical Night at the Orlando Informer Meetup
Last weekend, my sister and I experienced one of the most unforgettable theme park nights ever at the Orlando Informer Meetup in Universal Orlando. From unlimited food to walk-on rides and cooler evening temps, this event completely redefined how we’ll visit Universal from now on.

Check-In and the First Bites
We arrived at CityWalk for check-in around 5 p.m. and were impressed by how smooth and organized the process was. Universal team members holding Orlando Informer signs made it easy to find our way. With digital tickets ready and credentials in hand, we headed to the Soundstage where complimentary food and drinks were already being served. It was a great vibe—music playing, staff smiling, and lots of excited guests grabbing snacks and chatting.
We grabbed a few small bites to start (yes, the frito nachos and mini cheese pizza hit the spot!) before heading into the parks. The anticipation built quickly as we realized just how much the night had in store.

Unlimited Rides = Unlimited Fun

With our bellies happy and our credentials in place, we made our way into Universal Studios Florida. First up? Transformers: The Ride-3D. We walked straight on with barely a wait and were thrown right into the action. Then it was off to Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, which was as immersive and magical as ever.
Our thrill streak continued with Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, where I waited while my sister rode and picked her custom soundtracks for the ride. My sister picked Humble by Kendrick Lamar. The views of the park lit up at night from the top were breathtaking.
By now, we had completely settled into the magic of the evening. With far fewer guests than a regular park day, we didn’t feel rushed or stressed—just totally present and having a blast.
From Studios to Adventure: Hitting Both Parks
One of the coolest perks of the Orlando Informer Meetup is the dual park access. Around 9:30 p.m., we hopped over to Islands of Adventure via the Hogwarts Express. We were determined to ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and it did not disappoint. Racing through the Forbidden Forest under the stars was absolutely magical. The transition between parks was smooth, and both were fully open to meetup guests, making it feel like we had VIP access.
Butterbeer, Banana Popcorn & Beyond
Of course, no visit to the Wizarding World is complete without a Butterbeer tasting. We made it our personal mission to try all three varieties: regular, frozen, and hot. (For the record, hot won the night for us—even in the humid Florida air!)
We also couldn’t resist grabbing banana-flavored popcorn from the Minions area. It was quirky and fun, just like the movies. And yes, we made a couple of Cinnabon and turkey legs runs because when it’s unlimited, why not?
Snack carts and restaurants stayed open well into the night, and every stop offered something new to try. Burgers, tacos, loaded fries, churros—it was like a theme park foodie heaven.

A Stress-Free Theme Park Night
What truly set this experience apart was how relaxing it felt. With the event happening after normal park hours and limited ticket availability, the usual chaos of long lines and packed walkways was gone. We didn’t have to worry about rushing to beat the crowds or missing out on must-do rides.
Also, without the blazing sun overhead, the nighttime atmosphere was much more comfortable. Cooler temps, mood lighting, and lively but manageable crowds made it a completely different vibe from a typical daytime visit.
Why We’ll Only Do Universal This Way
This was our first time attending an Orlando Informer Meetup, and we’re officially hooked. The ticket price includes admission to both Universal parks, unlimited food, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages.
It’s a hard-ticket event that takes place a few times a year, and yes, it tends to sell out quickly. We’re already planning our next trip around the next Meetup weekend.
Oh, and if you’re staying at a Universal Orlando hotel, you might even qualify for up to 42% off thanks to exclusive Orlando Informer discounts—just another great reason to book early.
This isn’t just another theme park visit. It’s a chance to explore Universal like a VIP, with fewer crowds, all-you-can-eat perks, and memories you’ll be talking about for months.
If you’re thinking about going—do it. Just make sure you register early, check your email and get those Butterbeers ready!
