Boutique Hotels are becoming more popular and I am here for it! The unique styling makes for a wonderful atmosphere and I am always looking for a boutique hotel when I visit a city. The Peery Hotel located in Salt Lake City is not only a boutique hotel, it is also a Historic Landmark which made selecting this hotel a must.
Established in 1910, the Peery was remodeled in 1999 as a chic boutique Salt Lake City hotel under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Local restaurants Sonoma Grill & Wine Bar and Christopher’s Prime Tavern & Grill are located within the hotel. Local Pub Squatters is also within walking distant and if you looking for a restaurant chain P.F. Chang’s is at the opposite corner. The hotel is about ~10 minute walk to City Creek where there are plenty of additional restaurants and shops.
When it comes to boutique hotels the decor must transform you from the moment you step into the lobby. When enter the Peery Hotel, I felt like I had stepped back in time.
Room Design
We stayed in an accessible room, which was spacious. This was not requested but as there are extra precautious going on right now with hotels are spacing out guest. I am assuming that is the reason we were placed in this room. The standard room are just as spacious as the accessible rooms with two differences: the bathrooms have a shower only while in the accessible rooms there are tubs/shower combinations and accessible rooms have a closet and standard rooms have an armoire.
The Peery Hotel is a part of the Hilton brand which means it adds points to my Hilton Honors account. Hilton Honors is a free program to which you receive discount rate, points to free nights, free wifi and much more. If you are not a Hilton Honors member sign up, here.
While on this visit I was sadden to learn that Eborn Books location in downtown Salt Lake City has closed as of 2019. The store was highlight of previous travels to the city with it extended selection of books. After researching I found that there are additional smaller locations within Utah and many of the books are for purchase through their online sales.
