Have you ever stayed at a Margaritaville Resort? Well, I hadn’t until my recent trip to New York. And like I mention all the time, I love a themed hotels. This hotel is located in Time Square but it is actually a block or two from the center of Time Square. You get the ambiance of being in Time Square with out the lights flashing into your room. If you didn’t know, Margaritaville is a song by Jimmy Buffett that became themed restaurants and now Resorts. The theming of course is tropical with Margaritas everywhere! You will find an abundance of choices for margaritas at all the locations.
Visiting this resort gave the best of two worlds, the busyness of New York with the calmness that the Tropics bring. It has beach vibes and rooftop lounges, ceiling to floor windows, a pool and multiple restaurants. The staff was amazing and well more than accommodating when we arrive supper early. This was a slice of paradise in New York.
Opening this past July, the resort is located at the corner of W. 40th St. and 7th Ave. The entrance is at street level along with a huge flip flop, while the lobby is on the 7th floor. I was a bit confused but luckily, I was greeted by a security guard who gladly assisted us to the lobby. The Lobby was beautifully themed and with a chandelier made of, you guessed it, Margarita glasses.
On the 6th and 7th floor you will find the lobby, bistro, the pool, bar and a restaurant. The pool was on the smaller side but with the limited space you can still enjoy a nice swim. There is plenty of space to sunbath and there is a lifeguard on duty. The area also has a full service restaurant called Landshark Bar and Grill offering great happy hour specials.
On to the rooms! If you are looking for something that is very spacious this may not be for you. I, on the other hand loved my room and the view. I also loved the fact that there was a ceiling fan in the room. All hotels should have this options. While in the room with the curtain closed, I often forgot that I was in New York. The occasional sound of an ambulance may creep in from the street below, other than that the space is relatively quiet.
Over all Margaritaville Resort Times Square was beautiful but the staff was the best part. They were always prompt and assisted with any questions. Looking to book a trip I suggest planning ahead. Margaritaville Resort Times Square is new and with newness everyone wants to visit.
