I love the theming of Moxy Hotels! I have never stayed at one, so at a whim one weekend I drove up to Chattanooga for a quick break. If you have never stayed at one of the Moxy Hotels, they are part of the Marriott Brand and have been around since 2014. The hotels always look fun — the check in desk is at the bar and the decor is modern with a minimalist style. There is a fablous outdoor space, but as it is currently winter we were unable to enjoy it. As I am always on a budget my favorite part of the hotel is that it’s affordable.
THE MOXY, as the their website states “The brand is well suited for urban/metro areas with a favorable cost-to-build model, featuring efficient rooms and a lean staffing model”.
Hotel lobbies give off the vibe of your entire stay and this lobby did not let me down. The hotel is greatly themed, with the lobby desk being the bar. Upon checking in, we were given our keys as well as a token for the signature drink “Got Moxy?”. The lobby is a great open space for socializing or as in the case right now to social distant. The lobby was also filled with games for entertainment such as jumbo jenga and arcade game. Now as this was a last minute trip there was no planning involve in what to do around Chattanooga and the staff incredibly helpful.
The room floor plans are different than your normal hotel rooms and can take minute to wrap your mind around but they were still spacious for two adults. Although I saw pictures before I arrived, I was not prepared for how spacious the room actually were. You would think that with beds being in a different position that the room would be awkward but it actually worked. I felt as though the room was just as comfortable as all other hotel rooms. This particular room did not have desk but a small table to leave belongings on and along the side of the bed you had a lift that held the phone and night table lights.
There were a few things I really enjoyed about the room. There was no closet but there are more than enough hooks along the wall to hang items. One of my favorite parts of the room was the phone, it was modern retro and you could also call to have a bedtime story read to you. Also, the shower was wonderful.
A couple things about the hotel: it’s pet friendly at a cost, free wi-fi and is a 5 minute drive to the Tennessee Aquarium.
